Daily East to West tracking of the sun which optimises your daily yield over morning, afternoon and evening.
First and foremost function that every tracker performs. Asun 2 Axis Tracker does this too, but then, it’s not the only thing that it does to maximse yield.
It also tracks North to South, on account of the seasonal shift in sun’s path, making a big difference in winter months.
Single axis trackers lack the capability, citing cost and design complexities. A reason for performing lower than even fixed tilt during some months.
For bifacial use, panel array design of most trackers catches only residual solar radiation bouncing off the ground.
Asun 2 Axis Tracker does better. It’s panel configuration can also catch radiation scattered from panel to panel, thus making the most of bifacial modules.
Performance of Horizontal Mount Single Axis Trackers is known to fall significantly during winter months, because while the modules are still moving East to West during the day but the Sun’s path has changed along the North-South axis, thus the angle of incidence is nowhere near normal as intended.
Asun 2 Axis Tracker provides a daily tilt along the North-South axis, accounting for seasonal change in sun’s path, in addition to daily East-West movement morning to evening, thus tracking the sun optimally at all times, across seasons and maintaining near perpendicular angle of radiation incidence on solar modules. The result - higher yield and higher returns.

For a given generation target, Asun 2 Axis Tracker enables lower DC loading, resulting in savings on module and BoS costs.
Higher yield throughout the year as compared to any other MMS coupled with optimised capital cost translates to lower LCoE.
Higher yields and competitive costs mean improved project economics. Get better returns on your investment with Asun.
Dual-axis tracker systems with Bi-facial modules have the potential to out-perform other module/mounting configurations at high latitudes, where low solar angle-coincidence favors dual-axis tracking with added benefit of the reflectivity from snow in winters.
Data from dual-axis experimental systems has demonstrated that bifacial modules produced 14 percent more yield in a year and as much as 40 percent during the peak winter months. These gains are in addition to the estimated 35-40 percent energy gains of a dual-axis tracker relative to a fixed-tilt system.*
Advantage of 2-Axis Tracker with Bifacial modules
Gap between panels allows for more radiation to bounce off the ground below the tracker
Radiation reflected off the top surface of one panel captured by bottom surface of the next

Designed in collaboration with IIT, Delhi (Indian Institute of Technology), the first prototype and the first pilot project commissioned a few months later, are both operational incident free for over two years now.
Real time compararitive data captured for the three tyes of installations: Fixed Tilt, Horizontal Mount Single Axis Tracker and of course, the 2 Axis Tracker at the same location, validates the concept eloquently.
Data collected for three types of installations at the same location in Uttarakhand, shows consistently higher performance of the Asun 2 Axis Tracker.

With tracker tables aligned along the E/W axis rather than N/S as in prevalent single axis designs, the pitch between the trackers is reduced, thus allowing for higher land usage.
The highly optimized structure design of the tracker, allows even greater cost reduction by eliminating components and movement drives required for N/S movement.
Even with this adaptation to Single Axis with fixed tilt operation, the tracker once again offers the advantage of higher land use, depending on the location and the angle of tilt required.
With the advantage of an optimized structure with lower tonnage per MW, it delivers higher yield, especially at locations where seasonal N/S variation in sun’s path is significant.

Agrivoltaics or Agrisolar means simultaneous use of land for solar power as well as agriculture. Asun Tracker offers multiple and significant advantages in such applications as well.
Asun 2 Axis Tracker is a product built from the design brief upwards. A brief based on first hand experience with the single axis design and it’s inherent shortcomings. Added to that are astute market insights and industry trends. No wonder, it has future ready tech built into it’s DNA.
Asun Solar Power Private Limited was incorporated in the year 2013 with the objective of providing best
